Video replay: The Trust Factor — From America to the Middle East

November 6, 2024 - May 6, 2025

On June 27, 2024, The Christian Science Monitor’s editor, Mark Sappenfield, sat down with the former editor of the Monitor, Marshall Ingwerson, Monitor West Coast bureau chief Francine Kiefer, and Monitor Middle East correspondent Taylor Luck, for an in-person panel discussion in Newport Beach, California.

The panel of Monitor editors and reporters discussed topics including what role trust plays in the media and politics and how the Monitor builds trust with its readers. This event was sponsored by the Christian Science Reading Room in Newport Beach.

The Christian Science Monitor has built a legacy of high-quality, distinctive journalism over its 110-year history because it recognizes that news is more than facts. It’s the story of how we are each trying to make our homes, communities, and nations better. What matters are the values and ideals that drive us, not just the who, what, when, and where of the news.
